The path to spiritual management. «
The term “spirituality” is used in different ways and often confused with religiosity, as the terms are often used interchangeably in the English language.
Not infrequently, “spirituality” is used as a buzzword and is conflated with terms such as mysticism, New Age, and the like.
We understand spirituality to be a way of life, in which man is aware that he has a divine origin, of whatever kind, and that he is a spiritual being, whose BEING goes beyond earthly life and is connected with others.
We’ll now make two important assumptions:
Man is a spiritual being. The spirit of man, his soul, lives forever. It only changes its state. As an example imagine an ice cube. When it is heated, it melts, when the water is further heated, it evaporates and when the steam cools, it condenses back to liquid water. But the real substance, the water, is always there. Since the soul is eternal, it again returns to a new earthly life to gather new experiences. There are beings on earth who do not live as humans. Everyone has heard of them and believed in them as children. They may be called angels, spirit guides, ascended masters or similar.
Spiritual Management is thus leadership of a company or organization with this same awareness, taking into account the results of ALL influencing factors.
Need for change in action:
Such action is necessary following an ever-changing environment.
Increase in speed:
Between 1800 and 1900 the amount of human knowledge doubled. Between 1900 and 2000 it has increased tenfold. One assumes that it will double every year from 2050 onwards.
For the economy, this means that innovation cycles are getting shorter, the competition continually reorganizes itself and the time available for a business to respond is steadily reduced. Comparable to driving a car, with increasing speed it is vital to foresee problems and to anticipate and intuit events.
Networking / Globalization:
The connectedness to others through networks is visible in the economy in the globalization and the expansion of communications infrastructure. Via internet just about any information is available to anyone in the shortest possible time. Almost every adult in the industrialized world can be reached at any time through a mobile phone.
For the economy, this means the loss of many business opportunities that were based on having an information advantage over the consumer.
Expansion of consciousness:
Increasingly, people are becoming aware or made aware through the media and new modes of information delivery that the actions of individuals may well have very positive or negative impacts on the lives of many others. This is most clearly the case with environmental awareness, which in recent decades has changed very strongly, or with a global effort to bring peace on earth.
The former practice of action from the perspective of the ego is no longer tolerated by our fellow inhabitants and other nations, because it threatens the life of mankind. On the other hand, the helpfulness of the world population in cases of natural disasters is steadily increasing.
Elimination of hiding places:
In recent years, it is striking that a deliberate withholding of information in order to gain a personal advantage and/or to cover up unlawful behavior is becoming increasingly difficult. Particularly relevant for the economy is the requirement for disclosure of financial statements on the Internet, so that customers and suppliers can build up a picture. Similarly relevant is the elimination of tax havens and acquisition of information between tax administrations in order to identify tax evaders, but also the ability of customers to assess their suppliers on the Internet.
What to do?
The sum of all these changes makes it clear that it is impossible for a company to now successfully perform using the same methods and approaches it did, for example, 20 years ago. Besides doing nothing, which leads to certain death financially, there are two methods that offer themselves to the decision maker.
As always, the classic method of “full speed ahead” is the first. The salesmen make 20% more visits or contacts, the business operates at 20% more capacity, or the retailer reduces prices in order to generate more turnover. It seems likely that competition has a similarly structured approach and the market status quo moves to ever lower levels until the first exits from the market occur. After that the game begins all over again.
The other, and in our opinion, only lasting and most promising method is to walk a new pathway. The path to spiritual management.
